Pattinson hopes 'Twilight' love scene works

Actor Robert Pattinson hopes his sex scene with his real-life girlfriend Kristen Stewart in "The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn - Part 1" lives up to the hype.
The British actor features in an intimate scene with Stewart in the vampire moive, in which they play Edward Cullen and Bella Swan respectively. He is nervous about how the scene is received because of the fans' expectations, reports femalefirst.co.uk.
Referring to the original novel written byStephenie Mayer, Pattinson said: "It's funny, people talk about sex scenes in the book but there aren't actually any. It's all in people's imagination. They're like, 'It's so hardcore.' But it always fades to black. It just shows bits of the aftermath."
"It's strange trying to do a singular event which everyone is expecting. At the end of the day, watching other people have sex is never going to be that spectacular. Hopefully, it'll be good. There's so much hype. You're like, 'God, I hope this lives up to it!'" he added.

Amitabh Bachchan upset over fake ID

The just-released Shah Rukh Khan starrer might be receiving mixed reactions with kids going gaga over it, while others seem to find the film just okay. But what's most interesting is that Big B seems to be criticizing the film.
Well, we are talking about the fake Big B.When he happened to see it, Amitabh immediately clarified it on his Twitter account, saying, "ATTENTION !!! Someone using my fake ID and writing rubbish ..My ID is @SrBachchan .. fake ID being disgustingly used is @ SrBachhann...Fake ID of mine being used to write opinions on Ra.One .. I have not even seen the film and shall always wish the best for ShahRukh..." (sic)
Big B further added, "...and not just these comments on Ra.One ..many malicious, completely false accusations are being directed to me..I will not tolerate !...Of late a great amount of negative, malicious, completely untrue remarks being written against me .. I shall bear with silence .. but... BEWARE THE FURY OF A SILENT MAN ... !!!!"
This could be a reaction to the alleged sexual allegations that actress Sayali Bhagat leveled against the Sr Bachchan. A press release stated that Sayali has accused Big B of misbehaving with her. Other names also included Sajid Khan, Aarya Babbar and Shiney Ahuja. Sayali, however, has clarified that the news and the press release is false.

Mod

It’s been a while since one felt that stab in the heart while watching a love story trot towards its somber culmination. Love’s like that. When put on film it can make you fall in love with the emotion called love, as it happened in Imtiaz Ali’s Jab We Met.
We’ll never know why Imtiaz didn’t cast Ayesha Takia in Jab We Met after she sparkled in Ali’sSocha Na Tha. But there’s Kukunoor who truly values in Takia’s talent.
She brings to this film about that silly thing called, a kind of inner conviction that makes you want to believe in her faith in the oft-abused emotion. When Ayesha speaks her lines they don’t sound written in this under-written film about love that has goes into the realm of the surreal.
Veejay turned actor Rannjvijay Singh is the nerdy stranger who walks into Ayesha/Aranya’s tranquil life in a  scenic soporific hill station that’s threatened, rather crudel, by a construction magnate whom we overhear saying, ‘The first thing we’ll do is get rid of all the greenery around here.’
Ouch! Happily for us and the film, such insensitive moments are too far and in-between to make a difference to the gentle tale of a girl who runs a watch repair-shop in town where time  has nearly stopped still.
Nagesh Kukunoor and his lovely leading lady are most comfortable with the silences that punctuate life away from the city. The camerawork by Chirantan Das shamelessly creates picture-postcard images all around Aranya’s life and world. The relationships that emerge from the  sedate silences of a life lived in an ageless vacuum are woven into a  plot which careens between being a fragile fable and a mawkish melodrama.
Caught in that morning-time dim dawn sun  when the world looks irresistibly innocent and shorn of corruptibility the goings-on in Mod are so evocative of an era that never existed outside the poet’s imagination that we tend to forgive the plotting excesses that mar the second-half  of the film.
The finale on the hilly railway station, however, erases the clumsiness of some of the proceedings in the second-hour. And what we are left with is a film of heart-aching beauty, soo tender and evocative that in terms of manmade craft it replicates the intrictate threadwork of a Kashmiri carpet where very often the design is so nuanced the naked eye can’t see the craftsmanship.
The film has some truly tender supporting performances from Raghuvir Yadav (playing a zany Kishore Kumar fan), Tanve Azmi (always capable of tremendous empathy) and specially Nikhil Ratnaparkhi as Takia’s overweight suitor who in that one sequence where he pleads and threatens Ayesha Takia to marry him, brings so much bridled emotion into the film you are left feeling satiated with the vast amount of talent that this delicately drawn fable-romance pitches forward.
Ayesha Takia Azmi of course presides over the subtle proceedings. With her effortlessly-drawn emotions she is a treat to watch in every frame. Rannvijay Singh in a complex role that demands various mood swings from the actor, is surprisingly in-charge.
Mod is like a gente sonnet played on a  cosy winter morning. It is the tenderest love story in ages with a central performance by Takia that strikes a chord deep in your heart. Mod is a film you want to adopt embrace and hold close to your heart

Selena Gomez obtains restraining order against man

Selena Gomez has obtained a temporary restraining order against a 46 year-old man who her attorney claims has a history of mental illness and spoke about thoughts of killing the entertainer.
A Los Angeles Superior Court judge approved the order on Thursday requiring Thomas Brodnicki to stay at least 100 yards away from the 19 year-old singer and actress who also is the girlfriend of teenage pop star Justin Bieber.
"I am in extreme fear of Mr. Brodnicki, due to his direct threat on my life, his obsessive, harassing and threatening behavior to me, as well as his criminal history of stalking," Gomez said in a statement filed with the court.
Brodnicki was placed on a 72-hour mental health hold last month after he threatened to harm passers-by on the street by scratching their eyes out, according to court papers filed by Gomez's attorney and posted to celebrity website E! Online.
During that mental health hold, Brodnicki told a doctor he had traveled from Chicago to Los Angeles with the intention of meeting Gomez, and that he thought about harming or killing her, according to the court statement. Brodnicki has a history of mental illness, the statement said.
The Los Angeles Police Department's threat management unit is handling the case and working to protect Gomez from Brodnicki, court papers state.

Gomez's temporary restraining order against Brodnicki could be extended for three years at a hearing on Nov. 4.
Best known for her role in the Disney television show "Wizards of Waverly Place," Gomez also starred this year in the film "Monte Carlo." As a singer, her top songs include "Shake It Up" and "Tell Me Something I Don't Know."

Mod: An intricate tale of love

Nagesh Kukunoor’s “Mod” is simple, yet intricate and extremely powerful cinema that combines his directorial skills with an interesting cast and a story that stays with you long after it is over.
Andy, who introduces himself as a classmate from school, begins visiting Aaranya on the pretext of repairing his watch. Soon they begin spending more time with each other and Aaranya even introduces him as her boyfriend to her aunt.
All seems well until one day, Andy ignores Aaranya as she calls out to him in the market. She follows him and sees him walk inside a recovery home. She returns, puzzled, concluding that she fell in love with a mentally unstable man. Her aunt allays her fears momentarily and asks her to find out the truth.
Wanting to know more about Andy, Aaranya visits her school and makes a shocking discovery.
The screenplay is powerful and Rannvijay Singh puts in an admirable performance. Ayesha Takia is commendable in her role as a woman in love. Raghuvir Yadav and Tanvi Azmi enrich the folk-tale setting of this story with their cameos.
This is essentially a love story and Kukunoor weaves it beautifully, without much ado and hullabaloo, concentrating on the simple details and making it an experience that lingers on.
It is the realistic portrayal of emotions that makes “Mod” stand apart. I recommend it as a must-watch if you are a movie buff and love romance. Carry a tissue along, for the end may tug at your heart strings.

Everyone's nostalgic about their first pay and so is our hot hunk Hrithik Roshan.
The reticent Bollywood actor Hrithik Roshan, who usually keeps his personal life under wraps and rarely talks about his childhood, lately revealed all about his growing years and his mad fetish for cars and bikes.

There was a market in Juhu called Sarkari Bhandar in which we used to get these toy cars. So I went there and bought 10 hot wheels cars. My first ever earned money was to buy the Hot Wheels Toy cars. I was about 7-8 years old. I remember playing with those cars and the challenges I used to put against those cars playing on the furniture of my mother's bedroom, I used to create mountains out of the blankets and make the cars jump higher and faster. Somewhere that experience taught me a lot and seeped into my life as an actor."

"I am a slave to my vision. If I can see something that I can do then I have to do it myself. And if I can see I also know I can do, I can achieve,' says the confident actor.

Angelina Jolie praises Libya's revolutionaries

Actress and UN Goodwill Ambassador Angelina Jolie on Wednesday praised Libyans' "extraordinary" participation in their homegrown revolution, and said she stood in solidarity with the country as it sought to become a nation of laws.

Jolie arrived in Libya on Tuesday and toured destruction in Misrata, the city captured by rebels over several weeks of heavy fighting as they pushed to depose Libyan leader Muammar Gaddafi earlier this year.

Speaking in the lobby of a hotel in the city, she praised the "extraordinary" participation of ordinary Libyans both in the rebel army and transitional authorities, as they sought to forge a new nation.

"What's extraordinary ... is that a lot of the people who are part of the solution and are working in positions of even military, and you find that just before the revolution they had retired, or were running restaurants or were selling baby clothes and they've all quit their jobs and they are all working here now on behalf of their country," Jolie told Reuters.

"They have all lost family members ... they've suffered casualties themselves, they've lost limbs themselves and yet they're all really fighting for something they believe in, and for the future of the country for their children, so it's quite moving," she added.

Jolie set off in a sport utility vehicle, accompanied by armed bodyguards, to drive to Tripoli.

She said she had met Libyan transitional government officials during her two-day visit, and highlighted the many needs Libyans faced as they sought to rebuild society and institutions.

"This country is going through so much. It's in transition on so many levels ... It's not just food, it's not just sanitary conditions or the new laws that need to be put into place. It's all of these things at once," she said.

She said her visit sought to highlight the plight of foreign migrants and Libyans who had been displaced internally by the war.

"I'm also here on behalf of the Libyan people to show them solidarity. I think this revolution on behalf of human rights, which is what I feel these people really have been doing and what they have pushed for, and to help them to implement these new laws and help them with the future of their country."

RASCALS movie review

The film begins with an animation sequence where both the main characters – the rascals – - played by Sanjay Dutt and Ajay Devgn are explained. That is where the film should have ended, because once it starts it just doesn’t seem to stop. Rascals is about two conmen, Chetan Chauhan (Dutt) and Bhagat Bhosle (Devgn). They begin by conning each other and then fall in love with the same girl, who cons them in return. That’s exactly what the film is about, sort of like Dirty Rotten Scoundrels Bollywood-ishtyle, but it goes on and on till you doze off in sheer self-defence or decide to walk out in protest. The biggest downslide comes courtesy music director-duo Vishal-Shekhar, who try too hard to fit into the David Dhawan zone but fail miserably. Both Sanjay and Ajay ham all the way through and are joined by Kangna Ranaut, who re-defines ‘hamming’. Lisa Haydon shows off as much skin as the Censor Board would allow in a film without giving it an ‘A’ certificate. Kangna is felt up by the rascals almost every time she appears in a frame with either or both of them; there are scenes where you can see her getting annoyed about the sexual harassment. And then there are rhyming punchlines, sexual innuendos, forced action sequences, off colour jokes on the visually challenged, racist comments, naked yoga, art of giving, cloaked abuses, drunken tomfoolery – in short, Rascals is exactly the kind of film that the masses save their hard-earned money for.
